Halo 3 By ibnukasim
Halo 3 is a popular video game for the Xbox 360 video game system that was released in 2007 all around the world. It ended what is called the original Halo trilogy. The first game helped put Xbox on the video game map.
How popular was Halo 3? In the first week of release it grossed over 4.2 million dollars and sold more than 4 million copies. Xbox live was flooded with millions of players in the first day. As of January of 2008 sold 8.1 million copies, and was the best-selling video game in the United States in 2007.
Halo 3 continued the work the Halo series did to make consoles a serious contender in first person shooters. PCs dominated first person shooters until 2001 when the first Halo released. Halo spawned active communities and teams who played the game in competitions. For the first time console was a series PC computer competitor when it came to running, pointing, and shooting – and all the games including have
done it well.
Halo 3 has a story that focuses on an interstellar war taking place in the 26th century – mankind takes on a conglomeration of alien races called the Covenant. The player takes on the persona of the Master Chief, a super soldier enhanced with cybernetics and helped by a group of marines and an alien race known as the Elites. This version of the game included a map editor which allow players to modify multiplayer levels. This has never before been seen in the series, and was very popular.
Halo 3 ended the original trilogy, but now Halo 3:ODST is in the works. For the first time gamers will explore the Halo universe without playing as Master Chief. It's kind of like Rambo with Stallone, a big gamble.
Halo 3 is a good reason to buy an Xbox 360. Look forward to articles about cheats and mods to make the game all new.
